On 22.07.2005 the EBA Agrochemical Committee members initiated the first meeting on seeds issue that was held at the EBA office. The main objective of the meeting was to determine companies’ interest in establishment of such subcommittee, as well as to outline problems and issues that companies faced in their day-to-day activities and would discuss at the future meetings. It was agreed to arrange the next meeting on September and invite other companies operating in seeds industry.
Cooperation with the project “ Combating Counterfeit Plant Protection Products” (TACIS Bistro Project/2004/084-670)
NEWS: On October 17, 2005 the draft Law ’On Amendments to Laws of Ukraine On Preventing Counterfeit of Crop Protection Products, Pesticides And Agrochemicals’ has been registered at the Parliament of Ukraine. The draft Law was prepared as a result of the first stage of the project. Its main goals are to formulate a definition of “counterfeit product” with respect to agrochemicals and pesticides; to strengthen responsibility of both individuals and officials for use of the counterfeit pesticides and agrochemicals; and also to increase administrative fines imposed on individual infringers of crop protection legislation.
In March 2003, the EBA Agrochemical Committee in cooperation with Romyr & Associates has initiated a public education and lobbying project “Crop Safety for Human Health” in Ukraine.

Cooperation with the sectoral edition “Agrobiznes S’ogodni” is also the continuation of the public information campaign on the combating counterfeit. The common activity was started at January 2005. The Agrochemical Committee information is published in each issue of the edition.
Promotion of the ECPA (European Crop Protection Association) Guide for Industry on the Implementation of the FAO Code of Conduct on the Distribution and Use of Pesticides
During the committee meetings it was decided to promote the Guide for Industry Guide for Industry on the Implementation of the FAO Code of Conduct on the Distribution and Use of Pesticides. As a first step the unofficial translation of the Guide to Ukrainian was published in the Agrokompas, supplement to the Propozytsia magazine (issue # 8-9, 2004). EBA HR Committee
at the EBA office in Kyiv, 1-st floor, 1A Andriyivsky Uzviz. The meeting was devoted to summarising results of the EBA HR Committee activity in 2008. During this meeting the participants discussed the Committee priorities and action plan for 2009.
