USE OF ILLEGAL AND COUNTERFEIT PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCTS ENDANGERS CONFIDENCE IN UKRAINE’S AGRICULTURAL AND FOOD PRODUCTS
20 March 2008, Kyiv, Ukraineţ At the round table today, organised by the European Business Association (EBA) and the European Crop Protection Association (ECPA), members of the plant protection industry launched an initiative entitled the European Union Crop Protection Information Service (EUCPIS) to develop awareness within the farming and food production industries of the growing threat to the economics of farming in Ukraine and the human food chain of illegal and counterfeit plant protection products. |

EBA Agrochemical Committee - meeting with representatives of State Service Department on Economic Crime Prevention, Ministry of Internal Affairs
The main topic of discussion was the combating counterfeits of crop protection products activities holding by the Department. The Department representatives emphasized that cooperation between companies-right holders and authorities. Also participants discussed further possible ways to improve cross-sectoral cooperation. |

EBA Agrochemical Committee - meeting with representatives of Department of ecosecurity and treatment with dangerous chemical substances and wastes, Ministry of Environment
The main topic of discussion was the amendments to the current legislation on pesticide and agrochemicals. Namely participants emphasize the following issues: procedure of the state registration, official edition of the List of the Pesticides and Agrochemicals Permitted for Use in Ukraine, permission procedure for import of pesticides and agrochemicals unregistered in Ukraine for state examination and scientific research end etc. Also participants discussed further possible ways to improve cooperation between the Department and EBA Agrochemical Committee. |

in frame of the public discussion was held on 19.05.2005. This statement regulates the Order of the state examination, state registration and registration, publication of the list of the pesticides and agrochemicals permitted for using in Ukraine. |

The Agrochemical Committee meeting with the representatives of the Department of State Service on Economic Crime Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine
was held on 01.06.2005. During the meeting the combating counterfeit of the crop protection products issues and possible ways of the cooperation were discussed. The participants agreed to take part at the working group that would be organize within the combating counterfeit project financed by Bistro-Tacis program. |

Meeting with the Head of the Safety Department of the Ministry of the Environmental Protection of Ukraine, Mr. Melnychuk
was held on 26.06.2004. During the meeting questions were discussed on the registration and re-registration process of agrochemicals, anti-counterfeit activities and possible future cooperation. |

Round Table with a representative from the Ukrainian authorities
was held on 03.03.2004. There were representative from the State Customs Service, Ministry of Health, Chemical Safety Division of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine, State Plant Inspection of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine, Ukrainian Crop Protection Association, Raise–Agroservice Company and representatives of the Committee-members.
The main topic of the meeting was the New Customs Code and changes in the customs clearing procedure and incorrect determination of the custom code in accordance with UKTZED. |
