The main guidelines of the Committee activity are the following:

To contribute into the health care sector reforms by means of participation in the development and implementation of an obligatory medical insurance system, reimbursement system and improvement of private medical insurance;

Harmonization of the Ukrainian medical procurement standards as well as the clinical protocols in accordance with the European consensuses and recommendations;

Creation of the system of permission and circulation of medical equipment and devices;

Improvement of the legislature in the sector;
-
Improvement of the investment climate in the health care sector.
Committee keeps on its activity closely interacting with Pharmacological Center, State Service, and Representative Office of European Commission to Ukraine.
SUBCOMMITTEES AND WORKING GROUPS
There are the following Subcommittees and working groups, which are functioning on the regular basis: Every month the Registration, Medical Devices Subcommittees’ meetings take place. The Marketing working group meets on ad-hoc basis.
Registration subcommittee: the prerogative guidelines of activity are to study and observe the changes in legislature of Ukraine, to participate in the development and implementation of the registration procedure harmonized with those of EU. It meets together every second Tuesday of each month.

Subcommittee of medical technique: meets every first Tuesday of each month; provides technical regulations, the turnover and permission of medical devices and technique to the Ukrainian market; among the priorities for 2008 there are the revision and implementation of the technical regulations as well as the work with the Draft of the Law of Ukraine on Medical Devices.

Marketing subcommittee: since March 2007 it has been reformed into a working group on the interaction and producing of the Pharmaceutical products and medical devices Code in cooperation with the State service. There is also a procedure of hearing the complaints, initiated by the member-companies of the HCC and are connected with unethical behavior of pharmaceutical companies on the market. In 2004 an Ethical Code was signed.
