On 22-24 October, 2007, the Greek business mission to Kyiv was held by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Athens in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine and our office.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Athens in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine and the Greek Embassy in Kyiv, and with the support of the European Business Association, organized a Greek business mission to Kyiv on the 22-24 October 2007. Eleven leading Greek companies in the areas of tourism services, software and IT, varnishes and paints, aluminium accessories, waste management equipment, project management, construction safety management and capital market participated in the business mission seeking for new cooperation opportunities in Ukraine.
On the 23rd of October more than 65 business meetings were held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine between Greek and Ukrainian companies’ representatives, as a very successful first step for further future bilateral commercial cooperation. The participating companies had also the chance to be informed of the bilateral Greek-Ukrainian economic-commercial relations by H.E. the Ambassador of Greece to Kyiv, Mr H.Dimitriou, of the Greek economy situation by the head of the Greek business mission, Mr. D. Danilatos, of the activity of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine by its Vice-President Mrs O. Podoleva, of the investment opportunities in Ukraine by the representative of the Ukrainan Center for Foreign Investment Promotion Mr D. Krischenko, as well as of the Ukrainian tax system by the representative of a local auditing group.
The above mentioned business mission, as well as those that preceded and those to be organized in the future, are part of a wide effort to promote bilateral commercial and economic relations between Greece and Ukraine. Besides, as both the Greek and Ukrainian side confirmed in their speeches, the tightening of Greek-Ukrainian economic-commercial relations is their mutual objective.
