
The Conference held at the Presydent Hotel in Kyiv gathered some 100 representatives Ukrainian producers and companies-distributors of pharmaceutical products, relevant state authorities, investment funds and companies, journalists.
The issue of the investment environment of Ukraine has been discussed for a long time. Many events on investments to different sectors of Ukrainian economy have been held.
However, so far there has been no professional discussion on evaluation of Ukrainian healthcare related industries’ investment attractiveness.
That is why, the Health Care Committee of the European Business Association, together with pharmaceutical market research company, initiated the First Annual Conference "Investment opportunities in Ukrainian health care sector" and invited all interested parties for discussion.
The conference agenda included three sections:
- Regulatory issues and General overview of Investment Attractiveness of Ukrainian Health Care Sector
- Attracting investments into health care related sectors of Ukrainian economy
- Practical experience of investors and companies in search for investments.
When opening the meeting the Chairman of the EBA Health Care Committee Mr. Poushkariov expressed hope that the Conference would become a traditional platform for those interested in developing health care sector of Ukraine.
Among the speakers at the Conference were: Victor Dmitriev, Head of Intergovernmental Commission of CIS; Konstantin Lebedev, Director of Business Credit LC; Jorge Intriago, Vice President of the EBA, Oleg Ustenko, senior economist of Sigma Bleyzer, Anton Usov, public relations manager of EBRD, Olexiy Ivchenko, finance director of Farmak and other experts in issues of interest.
Discussions also covered aspects of concrete examples of investments in health care sector in Ukraine and in Russia:
- Merges and acquisitions: what a foreign investor is looking for in Ukrainian pharmaceutical company
- Examples of investment projects in Ukraine: problems and lessons
- Investment processes on Russian pharmaceutical market: systematic accidents or perspective conformity.
