Reform of the health care system in Ukraine is one of the most complicated areas of state policy at present. With the aim of assisting the reform of the health care system in our country and raising it to European standards, the Health Care Committee of the European Business Association* initiated "The Medical Insurance and Reform of the Health Care System in Ukraine” project, which for almost two years now has been working actively with the Ukrainian Health Ministry and with leading Ukrainian and foreign experts.

On 1 November, 2007, (Thursday) the Second Annual Conference to discuss investment opportunities in Ukrainian health care sector was opened. Initiators and organisers of the conference were Health Care Committee of the European Business Association and Pharmaceutical Marketing Group “Business-Credit LC”.

The International Energy Investment Forum organized by the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine and the European Business Association was held at Premier Palace Hotel in Kyiv. The Forum has become the biggest event ever held in Ukraine for the dialogue of the Ukrainian authorities and investors in energy sector.

The Conference held at the Presydent Hotel in Kyiv gathered some 100 representatives Ukrainian producers and companies-distributors of pharmaceutical products,  relevant state authorities, investment funds and companies, journalists. The issue of the investment environment of Ukraine has been discussed for a long time. Many events on investments to different sectors of Ukrainian economy have been held. However, so far there has been no professional discussion on evaluation of Ukrainian healthcare related industries’ investment attractiveness.

That is why, the Health Care Committee of the European Business Association, together with pharmaceutical market research company, initiated the First Annual Conference "Investment opportunities in Ukrainian health care sector" and invited all interested parties for discussion.
