Members trip abroad
“EBA members` trip” is a new EBA initiative, first launched in August 2009. The trip programme proposes both leisure and business activities. The EBA trip-fanciers are offered a unique opportunity to go sightseeing and enjoy the country views. Undoubtedly ,the key purpose of the tour is gaining the foreign business experience with the purpose of its further introduction into Ukrainian business practice.
“The EBA members` trip” project emphasizes the importance of maintaining strong business relations with foreign colleagues. There is no doubt that such practice of foreign interaction is not just important, but indispensable for the Ukrainian business development.
EBA Board members, Committee chairs and Top card holders are welcome to participate in business trips to different countries organised by EBA. “The EBA members` trip” gives a unique opportunity to communicate with prominent businessmen, find out more about foreign business realm and, of course, learn something new about the cultural peculiarities of countries.

European Business Association aiming to give a unique opportunity EBA Board members, Committee chairs and EBA TOP card holders to participate in the Ukrainian lunch in frames of World Economic Forum in Davos organised the EBA Members’ Trip: Switzerland. The EBA delegation was represented by the Top Managers of the following EBA member companies: Alfa Laval Ukraine, DESNAGRAIN, Ernst & Young, ING Bank, OTP Bank, PRP Group, PUMA Ukraine, Raiffeisen Bank AVAL, Rating-Audit, RD Bank, RULG - Ukrainian Legal Group, Ukrproduct Group, 1 inc.
Thus on 29 January EBA delegation attended the The 6th Davos Ukrainian Lunch “Presidential elections: Quo vadis, Ukraine?” organised by Victor Pichuk Foundation. Among the participants of the Lunch were: Serhiy Tyhypko, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Hryhoriy Nemyria, Oleksandr Kvasnevsky, Nino Burjanadze, Vitaliy Klichko, Anders Aslund and many other prominent politicians and businessmen. The Davos Ukrainian Lunch is one of the most prestigious annual international events, aiming to promote Ukraine and develop the world business and political communities’ opinion of modern Ukraine. We are proud that EBA delegation was among of invitees of this high-ranking event.
The agenda of the EBA Members’ Trip, organised jointly with Swiss-Ukrainian Business Chamber and Greater Zurich Area also included a number of business visits and of course some fun and relaxing activities.
On the first day of the visit, 27 January 2010, the EBA members visited the Moser&Cie, a watch factory, where they had an opportunity to see how watches are made. After that some members of EBA delegation went to the museum of IWC to see the collection of watches from the ancient times to the modern days. The end of the day was embellished by the visit to the Rheinfall.
On 28 January the EBA members had a meeting with Credit Suisse and KPMG at Swiss Stock Exchange. The agenda of the meeting included discussion of the following issues: general economic outlook: perception of crisis, outlook on Europe, special focus - Eastern Europe; overview of Financial Center Switzerland: economic stability as key advantage of Switzerland, importance of financial sector for CH, banking secrecy: legal foundation etc; tax aspects in Switzerland.
After that the EBA delegation had a meeting with Greater Zurich Area, a company that is working on promoting the cantons of Switzerland. Greater Zurich Area made a presentation on Swiss policies toward attracting FDI.
The visit to Frey chocolate factory probably made our members forget completely about the reality and all problems they might have, because they were introduced to the legendary art of making chocolate. During the tour of Frey chocolate factory everyone could try different kinds of chocolate, learn the history of the company and watch the short movie about the production of the chocolate.
After this sweet paradise the participants of the EBA Members Trip had an opportunity to relax at thermal spa and health resort of Bad Zurzach.
