12/02 17:00 Annual General Membership meeting - Board elections The 2008 Annual General Membership Meeting (AGM) of the European Business Association was held on 12 February, 2008 in premises of the Hyatt Regency Kiev Hotel (5A AllaTarasova St, Kyiv, Ukraine).
The EBA AGM Agenda was:
- Address by honourable guest of the AGM Hryhoriy NEMYRYA, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Integration
- Address by honourable guest of the AGM Ian BOAG, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine and Belarus
- Report of the EBA on its work in 2007 and the main achievements
- EBA’s plans for 2008
- Reelection of new EBA Board
Mr Nemyrya and Mr Boag gave high evaluation of the European Business Association’s work for 2007 as the views of representative of Ukrainian government and representative of the European Union.
Over 300 EBA members took part in the 2008 AGM. EBA President Andrea Raffaseder (CEO of Siemens) and EBA Executive Director Anna Derevyanko presented reports to them. It included information about EBA activity in 2007 it’s main achievements, namely: participation in bilateral talks between Ukraine and the EU (Kyiv, Brussels), promotion of the image of Ukraine abroad, working to reduce barriers for investments in Ukraine etc. Also EBA’s plans for 2008 were represented.
The main aim of the re-election was election of 7 new EBA Board members, whose predecessors were chosen in February 2007 for 2 years. The election was held on-line. The results were made known right after the election on 12 February, 2008, by 20:00).

Our thanks are also extended to members of the EBA Auditing Commission: Mr Floris Schuring of KMPG, Mr Sergiy Sokolov of ING Bank and Mrs Helen Kryshtalowych of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey who have been approved by the EBA AGM to serve in the Commission this year as well.

In relation to the EBA AGM we would like to express our appreciation to the Head of the EC Delegation to Ukraine and Belarus Mr Ian Boag and Vice Prime-Minister of Ukraine Mr Hryhoriy Nemyria who kindly addressed the EBA members at the meeting and presented prospects their cooperation with the EBA.
We highly appreciate active participation of over 300 EBA members in the EBA Annual General membership meeting in Kyiv yesterday. Those of you who have not had a chance to participate are welcome to receive copies of the EBA Annual Report 2007 and the new EBA Discount Catalogue at the EBA office in Kyiv.
