20/11 17:04 General Membership Meeting with local authorities: Small And Medium Businesses In Crisis - EBA Dnipropetrovsk Branch
was held in conference-hall of UkrEximBank. Participants discussed means to minimise negative outcomes of crisis for small and medium businesses. Mr Volodimir Don, Representative of the State Committee for Regulatory Policy and Enterpreneurship of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk oblast clarified peculiarities of financial crisis in Ukraine and its influence on SMEs, which employ more than 9,3 mln of individuals, which is 73% of all employed at enterprises. Mr Don marked significant decrease of all indexes in every sector of economy and emphasized the fact that the state gives support to particular sectors and pays less attention to SMEs. Mr Serhiy Zgonik, President of the Dniprovskiy Bank Union, spoke about crediting of SMEs in the current crisis situation. Mr Valeriy Galasuk, CEO of the Consulting Group Cowperwood presented mathematical model of explaining causes of economic crisisand demonstrated G-Hyperbolism effect in different economic circumstances. Mr Galasuk stressed on regularities of crisis: “Economists’ rejection of proportional increase of deposits and attempts to support their quasi-proportional increase lead to inadequate expectations of partners of economic relations concerning objective reality. These inadequate expectations occasionally lead to local and global economic crisis”. In conclusion participants agreed to prepare proposition how to support SMEs in Dnipropetrovsk .

at the EBA office in Kyiv, 1-st floor, 1A Andriyivsky Uzviz. The meeting was devoted to summarising results of the EBA HR Committee activity in 2008. During this meeting the participants discussed the Committee priorities and action plan for 2009.
was held in Victoriya Hotel. Mr Ihor Sbitnev, the Chairman of the EBA Branch Board, greeted participants and wished them Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. He expressed hope that the next year would bring new opportunities and prospects for business development to the EBA members .
