27/11 11:00 Press Conference of the EBA Mineral Wool Insulation Committee
Today energy consumption is inefficient, both in terms of costs and environment protection. In the context of energy saving, energy efficiency measures are a must, as the best possible way to save energy is not to consume it.
The construction and building industry accounts for a significant amount of final energy consumption, and it is possible to reduce this consumption substantially, granting very important savings both in terms of CO2 emissions and costs. Regarding an increasingly expensive energy, it is important that Ukraine benefits as soon as possible from the best practices and technologies in energy saving for the construction area. Indeed, for instance, residential and tertiary sector (mainly building) accounts for 40% of final energy consumption in the EU. Efficient thermal insulation plays a major role in this respect.
In order to promote high quality European standards of mineral wool insulation products and energy saving technologies for the construction sector, the EBA established the Mineral Wool Insulation Committee to bring together EU-based mineral wool insulation manufacturers.

EBA HR Committee
at the EBA office in Kyiv, 1-st floor, 1A Andriyivsky Uzviz. The meeting was devoted to summarising results of the EBA HR Committee activity in 2008. During this meeting the participants discussed the Committee priorities and action plan for 2009.
was held in Victoriya Hotel. Mr Ihor Sbitnev, the Chairman of the EBA Branch Board, greeted participants and wished them Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. He expressed hope that the next year would bring new opportunities and prospects for business development to the EBA members .
