was held at the EBA office in Lviv. Present member – companies` representatives considered the draft of the Law of Ukraine on operations on processing of import raw material on the territory of Ukraine, which had been proposed by the company “LEONI”. The examination of the above mentioned draft Law included discussion of imperfection aspects of tolling scheme for the majority of production companies, and search of the possible way of its legislative regulation. The participants of the meeting paid their particular attention to the following problematic issues, namely:
- Guaranteeing (avalizing) promissory notes;
- Impossibility of urgent changes foresight to the tolling agreement;
- Raw materials remnants left after 90 days (purchase and sale);
- Remnants utilization (permissions, export, import, taxation);
- Processing regime at the customs territory (new permission to the tolling agreement).

10/04/2006 Meeting with Mr.Uffe Balslev, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine
was held at the “Vienna Cafe” in Lviv. The first part of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation of the newly established Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine (Kyiv), its services and visa system. Then, the representatives of Danish companies had an opportunity to highlight those problems, which their companies face in cooperating with local authorities. It was noted that Danish companies do not have big problems working in the Lviv Oblast. The EBA Western Ukrainian Branch made an important contribution to this. However, general problems exist at the national level. It is necessary to make changes in the Ukrainian legislation . |

"SVITOCH", NESTLE group Open Day at the EBA Western Ukrainian Branch
EBA Western Ukrainian Branch started a new series of networking events - visiting the EBA member companies. Such events will give a chance to EBA members to present their enterprises to the EBA community, share experience and find new partners.
So, the first visit was to the CJSC Lviv Confectionery Firm "SVITOCH", NESTLE group. |

Metalwork and Engineering Industry Committee meeting took place at the EBA Office in Lviv
Bo Jorgensen (Holger Christiansen Production Ukraine), the Head of the Metalwork and Engineering Industry Committee, opened the meeting. The Committee members discussed the recent meeting with Mr. Zhuk, the Chief of Customs Control Department of Lviv Customs Office. and the upcoming changes in the structure of Lviv Customs Office, and the impact they may have on the activity of their companies. Members of the Committee also shared their experience of using promissory notes for covering VAT arrears, paying of customs duties, avalizing of promissory notes (electronic information) etc.
The next Metalwork and Engineering Industry Committee meeting will take place on January 2006; which will be announced in advance. |

Light Industry Committee meeting took place at the EBA Western Ukrainian Branch
Nataliya Klymko, the Regional Coordinator of the EBA Western Ukrainian Branch, opened the meeting. The upcoming election of a new Head of Light Industry Committee was one of the most important questions in the agenda. During 2004 and 2005 the Committee was chaired by Ihor Markuts (Lviv Textile Company). Members of the Committee also discussed other questions, such as letter to the President of Ukraine describing foreign investors’ concerns about implementation of the Law of Ukraine on VAT prepared by Lviv Textile Company, corporate profit tax (amendments to the 2005 Budget Law of 31.03.2005), avalizing of promissory notes, etc. |

Services Committee Meeting was held at the EBA Western Ukrainian Branch in Lviv.
Head of the Committee, Roman Oleynyuk, opened the meeting presenting the EBA, its Western Ukrainian Branch and the Services Committee to the new member companies in Lviv. The participants of the meeting also discussed common problems which their companies face, namely customs problems, city related problems, etc. |

During the meeting Board members discussed questions regarding EBA Western Ukrainian Branch activities in 2005 and plans for 2006. Detailed Activity Plan for the first half of 2006 will be approved at the next Board meeting. |

EBA Western Ukrainian Branch Fishing Tournament was held at the beautiful resort complex “Bukhta Vikinhiv” (12 km from Lviv).
This was the first WUBEBA Amateur Fishing Tournament. Participants tried to catch the biggest fish to win a prize. After the tournament all participants were offered to taste delicious shashlik. Thanks to the EBA member-companies for their participation. We congratulate the winner of the tournament – “DYNAMO-BLUES” Restaurant for catching the biggest fish! |

On October 6, President of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko visited the Fair. On October 6, in the framework of the Fair WUBEBA members met with representatives of state authorities of Lviv Oblast at the Round Table meeting “Lviv Region Invites Investors”. |
