The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine establishes the Governmental Committees in order to ensure realization of its authorities. Such Committees act in accordance with the Section 4 of the CMU Regulations, approved by the CMU Resolution No 950, dated 18.07.07.
The Governmental Committee is a working, board body of the Cabinet of Ministers which is established for ensuring efficient realization of Cabinet of Ministers authorities, coordination of executive bodies’ actions, preliminary consideration (examination) of draft legal acts, conceptions, strategies, major directions of state policy realization, other documents submitted for consideration of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The list of the Governmental Committees and their composition are approved by the Cabinet of Ministers upon submission of the Prime Minister. The respective Draft is to be prepared by the Cabinet of Ministers Secretariat upon approval of the First Vice-Prime Minister, the Vice Prime Minister in accordance with their competency. A Governmental Committee is comprised of members of the Cabinet of Ministers according to their competencies. It can also include Deputy Ministers, chiefs of other central executive authorities who do not belong to the sphere of orientation and coordination of Ministers.
Hence as of today there are four Governmental Committees approved by the Cabinet of Ministers Decree No 195-p, dated 30 January 2008:

Governmental Committee on the Issues of Economic Policy chaired by the First Vice-Prime Minister;

Governmental Committee on the Issues of Legal Policy, Defence and Enforcement Activity chaired by the First Vice-Prime Minister;

Governmental Committee on the Issues of Humanitarian and Social Policy chaired by the Vice-Prime Minister;
-
Governmental Committee on European Integration and International Collaboration chaired by the Vice-Prime Minister.
